Compared to other countries, the consumption of antibiotics in Norway is low, and the proportion of narrow-spectrum antibiotics is high (1, 2). Dispensing on prescription outside institutions accounts for 80 % of total sales (1). Since 2012, the use declined year on year until 2018, followed by a small increase of 2 % in 2019.
