Flesteparten av de vel 1 900 voksne revmatikere som hvert år får behandlingsopphold i varmt klima, har revmatoid artritt, Bekhterevs sykdom eller psoriasisartritt
Kvalitetssikring på forskjellige nivåer er nødvendig for å kunne selektere pasienter som vil ha optimalt utbytte av oppholdet
Positive effekter av oppholdet kan skyldes tre forhold: intensiv aktiv fysioterapi, varmt klima og miljøskifte. Det er foreløpig lite kunnskap om hvor stor klimaeffekten er. Resultatet av den pågående BROR-studien vil forhåpentligvis bidra til økt kunnskap på området
